It is now self-evident the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, the Bill of Rights and frequent elections are an inadequate package to guarantee this will always be a free country, our individual rights will always be protected, and we will forever be what we were born to be: free and independent.
Something else is needed, and that something is: We the People of the United States must reassert our Sovereignty and wrest control of our government away from global elites, special interests and political parties. We must exercise and retain sufficient control over those entrusted with its powers. We must steer them back to basic American principles, get them to restore the original purpose of our government, and keep their actions aligned with these ideals.
In fact, this is the responsibility of our time. And it will require more than just voting, and more than just contacting our representatives and protesting when we are unhappy. To effectively destroy “politics as usual” and confront the things our representatives are afraid to confront, we must dare to tempt fate and change history. We have to muster the courage, ask the best of every concerned American and live heroic lives from here on.
Most important, the People need new vehicles and tools that will allow us to exercise sufficient control and hold our representatives accountable to us. This is what FREE & INDEPENDENT is all about.
This is the extraordinary time we find ourselves in. We must accept this responsibility. We must act. America’s salvation hangs in the balance.
Unless the mass retains sufficient control over those entrusted with the powers of their government, these will be perverted to their own oppression…
The influence over government must be shared among all the people. If every individual which composes their mass participates of the ultimate authority, the government will be safe…
I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power.
– Thomas Jefferson
